Confirmation

At Or Ami, we believe that Jewish education must continue beyond the age of bar/bat mitzvah. If someone stops learning about Judaism at age 13, he or she will only have a pediatric understanding of Judaism that cannot possibly meet the more sophisticated spiritual and intellectual needs of an adult. For this reason, our students are strongly encouraged to continue their Jewish education as high schoolers and beyond. At the end of 10th grade, students will celebrate their continued commitment to Jewish education in a special Confirmation ceremony, wherein each student has the chance to share his or her evolving sense of spirituality and Jewish identity with friends, family, and the larger Or Ami community.
